Meet the Teacher

Hi! I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my 14th year teaching. I have been at San Jacinto Elementary for 9 years now and believe that SJE is the BEST place to be! I have taught 1st,  2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade. I attended college at U of H Clear Lake and earned my degree in interdisciplinary studies EC-4. I attended Deer Park schools my entire life and love that I can give back to others what was given to me: an incredible education!

 

I am currently a Reading Recovery teacher for 1st grade. I get to teach children that all ALL students are readers. My favorite part is when I see the confidence in a student turn on for the first time as a reader and when he or she realizes they are smart, capable and unstoppable!! I love the relationships I get to form working in a 1 to 1 setting with kids. I love supporting parents alongside their children’s literacy journeys.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my beautiful family,James, Brendon, Julia, and Noah. You can find me reading, gardening, cooking, fishing, camping or painting!
