About Me
Hi! I'm Mrs.Steffenauer and I am a 5th grade teacher. This will be my 8th year teaching at SJE. I grew up here in Deer Park, and attended San Jacinto as a child. I graduated from The University of Texas at Tyler with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2016. I believe that there is potential in every child that walks though my door, and it's my job to help them reach it.

As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or dehumanized.”
